Honorary Citizen
2001-05-09

We had a pleasure to take part in ceremony organised in the Museum of Tykocin, where the title of Honorary Citizen was given to Mr Abram Kapica. Mr Kapica is one of the few Jews who survived nazi’s extermination in 1941. Mr Kapica’s grandson, who arrived to Tykocin with a group of his school friends, received the title in the name of his grandfather. It was a great occasion for us to meet Israeli youth and to discuss with them. After meeting we came together to visit and pray at the place of martyrdom of Tykocin Jews.

Excursion to Tykocin
2000-12-16

In this beautiful town, where for centuries Jews were the minority, we were guests of Mrs Ewa Wroczyńska, director of Museum in Tykocin (Branch of Podlaskie Museum). Museum is located in Great Synagogue building, one of the most precious Jewish architecture monument in Poland. Mrs Wroczyńska presented a very interesting lecture titled "History of Tykocin Jews" and showed us a part of Museum’s collection.
